Welcome to Wendy Salisbury Photography

My love of Photography has been long standing - as has my love of animals - but I only began putting the two elements together in 2008 and I have not looked back !

So much has been written about this subject lately that I must point out that a lot of my images prior to 2013 are shot of animals in captive or controlled situations and not in the wild ... one of the main reasons for this is the accessability of a lot of these species is not easy in a wild situation and as yet i do not have the rescource to be able to travel the globe to find them (as much as I would love to !) I have now split the galleries into wild & captive so taht it is now obvious which is which.

Whatever your feelings on zoos and wildlife parks I do feel that they are a necessary part of our world today to help preserve species and keep animal ambassadors for the world to see all the wonderful creatures that share our planet and inform people of the plights that their wild counterparts face - I really think that if you want people to support an animal they have to make a connection with it on some kind of level and in order to do that they have to be able to see the creature for themselves and a captive environment is quite often the only way to do this.

In 2013 I have been concentrating more on British & Irish animals and birds in the wild and have really been enjoying the experience, even it it is extremely frustrating at times, when the shots actually come off it it so worth it !

I hope you enjoy browsing through my galleries and that at least some of the images put a smile on your face ..... just as they did for me when I pressed the shutter !

If you wish to get any further information on my work then please contact me at the email address shown on the contact page - I would love to hear from you !
